Assignment:  Upgrade operator station computers and create a custom user interface software application in parts kitting area of automated warehouse facility.

 

Solutions:  Three systems upgraded to modern integrated PCs to replace obsolete hardware and OS. Custom software application, written using Visual Studio tools, combines the functionality of several standalone applications in the prior system. The application communicates with IBM mainframe and VAX/VMS servers, as well as Allen Bradley PLCs, using network and IR modem connections.
